Explanation of Vote: the Question of Western Sahara Resolution

Australia remains committed to the principles of the United Nations Charter, including self-determination, and supports UN-led efforts to achieve a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution to the question of Western Sahara.
In supporting this resolution, our vote should not be interpreted as endorsing every element of the text or as signalling a change in Australia's established position.
